Divorce and Mediation
In addition to litigation and other client representation, our firm offers Family Law Mediation services. Paul D’Alessandro is an accredited mediator with the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators. We also represent clients who are participating in mediation with other mediators.
While there are times when litigation is necessary to resolve the issues in a divorce, there are times when the uncertainty, acrimony and expense that come along with it are simply not necessary. Other means of dispute resolution, such as mediation is an increasingly attractive alternative for many divorcing couples. However, your divorce is resolved, it is critical to align yourself with skilled, knowledgeable legal counsel.
Mediation: In mediation, the parties to a divorce, their attorneys and a mediator gather together to discuss potential solutions to various points of contention. The mediator’s role is not to push one or both spouses to an agreement. Rather, the mediator’s role is to suggest ideas and offer guidance on how the court is likely to rule on specific issues.
Our experienced attorneys will listen closely to your needs and help you determine whether one of these alternatives is likely to promote a positive outcome.
